In Kenya, public school teachers retire at age 60, often transitioning abruptly from a high-pressure, 70-hour work week to total inactivity. For over 30 years, these educators have served in loco parentis, acting as counselors, mediators, and community leaders—often in under-resourced environments.

The Challenge:

• Financial Vulnerability: Delayed pension disbursements and inherited family obligations leave many retirees financially strained and dependent on relatives.
• Loss of Identity: Without the classroom, many struggle to find a “second act,” leading to a loss of purpose despite possessing a “high-quality” professional skillset.

2. The Solution: Coaching for Evolution

Beyond the Classroom is a 12-week virtual transformation program designed to evolve retired women educators into mentors and trainers. By leveraging technology (Zoom) to overcome geographical barriers, we empower these women to transition from “classroom teachers” to “community catalysts.”

Using Yellow Stroke’s 8 Holistic Approaches, we guide participants through personal growth and professional pivot strategies, ensuring they live healthy, fulfilling, and financially independent lives.

3. Program Objectives & Methodology

We utilize a structured, technology-driven approach to facilitate this transition:
• Digital Accessibility: 12 weeks of flexible Zoom-based sessions, allowing educators from across Kenya to participate without travel burdens.
• Skill Transference: Training participants to package their 30+ years of experience into consultancy, mentorship, and life coaching services.
• Financial Independence: Identifying sustainable, digital-first income streams (online workshops, 1-on-1 coaching) to reduce reliance on pensions.

• Success Metrics: We will track the number of graduates who successfully launch or secure consultancy roles within six months of completion.
